“ Definitely one of the nicest most welcoming places I’ve been to. The food was absolutely amazing. As soon as I got home I told all my friends and family about it and where it was. I definitely would love to go back someday for an anniversary supper or other special occasion. Make sure to have cash on you costed 50 per person for everything you see in the pictures. Also make sure to fill out the guest book. ”
“ My husband and I just spent our 4th wedding anniversary here at the beautiful Cape D’Or Lighthouse. The views were spectacular. Our host Darcy was so kind and welcoming with a great sense of humour. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we had breakfast in the morning which was delicious. I would highly recommend this hidden gem. ”
“ Steep walk to the lighthouse and no WiFi (good cell signal though) are the only things you need to know up front. Darcy is very friendly (good chef too) and the views are spectacular. Unique experience and worth the stunning drive to get there. Thanks Darcy ”
“ Unassuming place. Serene and wondrous natural phenomenon. Awesome view around from the viewpoint and the tidal waves crashing mesmerized the experience. We did not go to the cafe or hotel. ”
“ It was a beautiful experience together with my son ,father and mother-in - laws witnessing the fascinating , breathtaking views around the place. The food is excellent and worthy of the price. The chef himself is very accommodating and we felt like we are in our own kitchen in Virginia, USA. I can recommend the place if you want to get away from civilization and enjoy your own peace. ”
“ If you’re looking for luxury, go somewhere else because you won’t appreciate the rustic simplicity and beauty of this place! I’ve never been able to unwind and relax, feel so in tune with nature, all while staying in a bare bone’s, clean and welcoming place. Yes, it’s a trek down the rocky road... yes, the views and experience are worth every bit of it. Park at the viewing lot and walk down.. it’s an experience! No, there is no WiFi or fancy accommodations- no, you won’t need either! We found so much to do on the property. Grab some snacks from the gas station (Advocate Irving) and enjoy the bare bones of this astonishing viewpoint and serene environment. The 1-star reviews clearly don’t appreciate simplicity, humor, or freedom of being a business owner & making your own decisions about your business. When Darcy cooks, the food is incredible- we had supper, lemon caper salmon & veg/chicken curry. Breakfast was French toast one morning and an eggs/bacon/toast breakfast the other. If you’re an adventurer looking for incredible accommodations at an incredible price, look no further. If you’re a customer looking for WiFi, 5-star accommodations, easy accessibility, I suggest you keep looking! ”
“ This place is out of the world. It's a hidden gem and I'm so glad I booked it. Darcy is such an amazing guy and a great chef. Amazing hospitality, fantastic yummy food, and the most beautiful view. Darcy goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. He is a storyteller at heart. You can see his passion in what he does. Make sure you are there before sunset to and enjoy it with a glass of wine. The beds were very comfortable. For everyone complaining about the trek down, it was well communicated in advance and Darcy even offers to haul your stuff down if you tell him in advance. We just took our night backpacks.. it's just a short trek down. ”
“ Amazing view of the lighthouse, bay of Fundy and rock formations. It is worth climbing back up to the parking lot. We stayed there overnight so I got to see the sunset and sunrise and it is just so amazing. The rooms are clean and the food at the light keeper's restaurant was the best! They are all very accommodating. We can not complain you can bring your car down if you stay overnight. ”
